"When I was quite younger, we grew up with a lot of help in the house. We had a housekeeper. She was like a general housekeeper in that community. She was loved by everybody because she did her job so well.
She got her placements through recommendations, and she was able to split between six families. She was really a sweet lady. I call her a sweet lady because she bought us sweets every Friday when we were still kids.
So, one day after cleaning our house, she went to clean another house. While doing her cleaning, at some point, she lay down on the floor and slept. Then, a sn@k£ came in while she was resting and b!t her.
She was in that position until the owner of the house came back from work and found her lying on the floor, d£@d. They rushed her to the hospital, only for her to be confirmed d£@d.
The next day, which was on Saturday, other people in the community were not aware that she had p@ssed.
So, she came at her usual time to the other houses, but instead of cleaning, she came to collect her money. She would knock on their door, they would open it, see her, and she would ask for her payment.
On Monday, she was supposed to come and clean our house, but we didn't see her. So, mum had to call her husband to ask about her. He told her she had p@ss£d on Saturday from a sn@k£ b!te.
My mum, dad, and grandma gathered, and they were crying. We were kids, so we didn't really know what was happening.
Toward evening, around 7 p.m., my family were in the sitting room watching a TV show when someone started knocking on the gate.
My mum told the gateman to go and check. He went to check and ran back inside, saying it was the housekeeper. Na so everywhere scatter for the house.
Somehow, she was within the compound and started knocking on the door. My dad, brave man that he is, went to the window and started asking, “What do you want?”
She was like, “Mummy Faith, Mummy Faith, na my money I come for. I just want my money,” referring to my mum. “I need my money.”
My dad told her that it was already late and that she should come back in the morning. She left the door and started moving around the house.
I had the bravery to check through the window, but I didn't see anyone. That night, we couldn't sleep. Even the gateman had to bring his mattress into the sitting room.
In the morning, when they went around the compound to check, they couldn't find anyone.
My mum and dad dressed up, took the money she was owed, and went back to her husband's house. On getting there, they discovered that most of the community residents were there, and everybody started saying she came to collect her money.
My mum gave the husband the money and told him that she came last night to collect it. He then called their first daughter and gave it to her, told them they had to perform a particular r!tu@l to put an end to it..."
