Many times, entertainers often say
that they cannot marry their
colleagues for certain reasons .
However , music sensation, Myoa , said
it is not an issue. She told Saturday
Beats that the most important criterion
is for her partner to be understanding.
“ I think as long as the person is good ,
it does not matter what he does . If he
understands what I do and I
understand what he does also, there is
nothing wrong getting married to
him,” she said .
The delectable songstress was put in a
tight corner when she was asked if she
would choose music over her family
but in her reply, she emphasised on
the need to have a balanced life .
“ I think my husband would
understand because you can balance
it, though it is not easy. I do not think
one should sacrifice any for the other ;
I think you need to find how to
combine both ,” Myoa said .
The American returnee told Saturday
Beats that she admires Sade Adu and
draws inspiration from the Nigerian
born singer .
She said , “ My sound is still different .
No one has my tune ; Sade does not
have my tune and I do not have hers
too or any other person’ s tune . I get
inspirations from so many people,
including Sade Adu. Her style is
evergreen; I am drawing that from her
as a person.”
The singer noted that she had built a
sizeable fan base abroad but that she
is coming back to her roots to do what
she loves doing best , music.
“ I left Nigeria some years ago. I was
born in Nigeria , but I currently live in
the United States of America . That ’s
where I do music; I have a band there.
But I like to be more involved in
Nigeria and Africa in general , because
I am known as a Nigerian. Since this is
my root , I want to bring my music
here too ,” she said .
